Vibe Coding Prompts: Context, Constraints, and Small Iterations
The best prompt is not necessarily long. It gives the AI relevant context, limits unintended changes, and explains how you will know the result works.
Describe the task and context
Name the user, the problem, the project’s current state, and the specific goal. Include only relevant files and facts; if the context is large, ask for a short summary first.
Set boundaries and output expectations
Say what must not change, which technologies are already in use, and what kind of response you need. For example, request a plan and file list before editing.
Work in small steps
Ask for one slice, run it, then share the actual error or observation. End each request with acceptance criteria instead of vague directions like “make it nice.”
